Particleboard is made of wood or other lignocellulosic materials, which is glued under the action of heat and pressure after applying adhesive. It is mainly used in furniture manufacturing and construction industry, as well as in the manufacturing of trains and cars.
Because the particleboard structure is relatively uniform and the processing performance is good, it can be processed into large-scale plates according to the needs, and it is a better raw material for making furniture of different specifications and styles. The finished particleboard does not need to be dried again, it can be used directly, and has good sound absorption and sound insulation performance. But it also has its inherent shortcomings, because the edge is rough and easy to absorb moisture, so the furniture edge sealing technology made of particleboard is particularly important. In addition, due to the large volume of particleboard, the furniture made of it is also heavier than other boards.
Melamine is one of the resin adhesives for manufacturing melamine particleboard. Paper with different colors or textures soaked in resin, dried to a certain degree of curing, paved on the surface of particleboard, hot pressed into the decorative board.
Generally, it consists of surface paper, decorative paper, covering paper and bottom paper.
① the surface paper is placed on the top of the decorative board to protect the decorative paper, so that the surface of the board after heating and pressure is highly transparent, and the board surface is hard and wear-resistant. This paper requires good water absorption, white and clean, and transparent after dipping.
② decorative paper, i.e. wood grain paper, is an important part of decorative board, with or without background color. The decorative paper printed into various patterns is placed under the surface paper, which mainly plays a decorative role. This layer requires that the paper has good covering power, impregnation and printing performance.
③ covering paper, also known as titanium white paper, is generally placed under the decorative paper when manufacturing light color decorative board to prevent the underlying phenolic resin from penetrating the surface. Its main function is to cover the color spots on the surface of the substrate. Therefore, good coverage is required. The above three kinds of paper are respectively impregnated with melamine resin.
④ the base paper is the base material of the decorative board, which plays a role in the mechanical properties of the board. It is made by soaking phenolic resin adhesive and drying. During production, several layers can be determined according to the use or the thickness of the decorative board.
In the selection of such panel furniture, in addition to color and texture satisfaction, we can also distinguish the appearance quality from several aspects. Whether there are stains, scratches, indentations, pores, whether the color and luster are uniform, whether there are blisters, whether there are local paper tears or defects.
